Stanley Park mobility study is out. Removal of bike lane resulted in: way more speeding, no extra parking revenue (so much for the argument that the lane was removing parking access), fewer people cycling, more crowding on the seawall.

ALT An update from the park board on the removal of the Stanley Park bike lane. No change in parking revenue, people speeding rose from 11% to 50%, community feedback was mixed, cycling numbers went down and seawall crowding increased.

Fun fact, Our Community Bikes and BEST share a long history together 👯🤝 BEST was formed in 1991 by a group of passionate cyclists who two years later opened Vancouver’s first DIY bike store that has since transformed into the @OCB1993 we know and love today 💓

Just a quick shoutout to @BESTmobility for delivering efficiency at an absolutely slammed Bike Valet service at car-free day on Main yesterday. Even as we headed home in the early evening, folks wanting to park their bikes could only get a spot once we left with ours.
