MMORPGs have the greatest potential of any game genre, but that potential is being stifled by a poor understanding of MMO design. That is why this channel analyzes MMO systems, what works, what doesn't and why.
Something I think we overlook us that if we only have vertical progression or only horizontal progression in mmos, the genre won't be healthy.
Having only one disincentives a lot of people from staying or joining the community and makes mmos more stagnation prone.
So first they say the pound is worth more than the dollar now the euro? Can we stop with the nonesense? The dollar is the dominant currency, we all know this so how are you putting the currency of failing economies above the dollar?
This guy needs to be gatekept out of our community. He can't handle being wrong or someone having an opposing view so he gets toxic and then blocks.

Complains about me tagging him and won't stop tagging me, not realizing him shutting him means I have nothing to reply to. But he likes the drama and thinks he has some moral high ground by blocking me.
Absolutely pathetic. Gatekeep this guy out.

This is the kind of people we need to gatekeep out of the mmo community. They don't even know what an mmo is and then when you try to talk to them nicely about it, they behave like this.
The trailer looks cool and sounds cool but is a nothing burger for what to expect. So be excited if you want for a new Guild Wars but remember, we haven't gotten anything on the gameplay yet meaning it isn't the WoW Killer, Genre savior, etc.
As much as some people want a Guild Wars 3, I don't think it'll be what we hope if it's made anytime soon.
A big shift needs to occur not only in the industry but in the community first.
That shift is starting, but it's currently slow.
The number of possible gameplay loops MMOs can have is astronomical. Some of which aren’t possible right now due to technological limitations, but many of which can be done now.
Honestly, if we want mmos to regain their popularity and be better than they are, we need to not care if AI was used to make it or that it has bad graphics or if it's 2D or the graphics are more generic. We should be focusing on the gameplay because that's what's important.
No, it's not impossible for MMORPGs to be social again. It just requires a fundamental shift in our mentality in how MMOs are designed. We are too stuck in the past and think that how things were designed will work again. Time has moved on, we need to adapt to that.
I'm curious, if your government made it illegal to use tweets from 10-10 years ago as part of a smear campaign against someone as libel, what would you think?
Got to love making progress on recording a video and then making the stupid mistake of muting your mic so you don't get a good take, wasting the limited time you have to record...
