We are learning about how they have the fattest pig contests. Big Bill, owned by Elias Buford Butler of Jackson, TN, holds the world record for the heaviest pig. A Poland-China breed of hog tipped the scales at 2,552 pounds (1,158 kg) in 1933. #NationalPigDay
Today for #NationalPigDay we learned about pigs. Pigs were 1st domesticated in the Near East around 8500 BC and brought into Europe by agriculturalists. As of March 1,2022, there were 72.2 million hogs and pigs on U.S. farms, according to the Hogs and Pigs report @usda_nass
To start celebrating #NationalCreditEducationMonth we are learning about how student loans work and #studentloanforgiveness and the current case in front of the Supreme Court. We can wait to learn more lessons about financial literacy during this month! #MoneyMarch
During #WomensHistoryMonth we will be starting each period learning about a great #women in history. The student are looking through our books we got from a project with @DonorsChoose first up we have Sophie Scholl who helped start the White Rose Resistance group.
