We’re going through some changes! TL;DR: we’ve got a new name and a new organizational structure!
We’re making some changes to how we work and how we present ourselves to the world. We’re now called the Basic Income Youth Collective (or BIYC, for short)!
We are also making some cosmetic tweaks, like changing the colour palette we use on our website and across social media - it felt like the right time for a fresh coat of paint! Our website, social media handles, and email address will stay the same, so you know where to find us!
Thanks for being with us on this journey! We are really excited about these changes.

In solidarity, Chloe, Ellen, Hannah, Kendal, Manpinder, and Shanaya (aka, the Basic Income Youth Collective)✨
It is time to provide a real solution to poverty.
We support Bills C-223, An Act to develop a national framework for a guaranteed livable basic income, and S-233, the identical Senate bill.
We believe #GLBI will reduce gender inequalities in 🇨🇦.

Poverty is a policy failure. The current system of conditional income supports doesn’t work. Cash transfers redistribute wealth and power from the ultra-wealthy to communities. It’s time for the rich to pay their fair share. #BillC223

Yesterday I joined @KPateontheHill at a meeting with Premier Dennis King focused on the proposal for a Guaranteed Basic Income in PEI. The federal and provincial governments must work together to reduce poverty and its damaging impacts on individuals, families and communities.
