Fall armyworm QOTD: Can they move from infested turf to neighboring ornamentals? Yes, they sure can. They prefer grasses but will feed on all aboveground parts of herbaceous ornamentals. Liquid products for pyrethroids (short-term), diamides provide longer window of protection.

🚨Fall armyworms are no joke, y'all. Hitting NC hard and fast after Debby. Keep an eye out for egg masses, caterpillars and be sure to soap flush. Pyrethroids for immediate control, diamides for long-term.

Hearing & seeing the same thing as @turfbutler, especially in our warmer regions of Virginia. He has provided great advice to stay on top of this potentially devastating disease that is primed to explode after our weather pattern shifted from desert to tropics recently. #vaturf

🚨 Heads up tall fescue managers! Active gray leaf spot in 2 trial locations in the Raleigh area this week. QoI’s alone won’t hold this back, so now is the time to add a DMI and/or t-methyl. Given the forecast, we hope you all are on top of this one because damage will be swift.

Last few weeks have been variable for $spot on creeping bentgrass - the incoming warmer weather and higher dew points should cause it to flare again - seeing some pretty strong separation among cultivars on our putting green trial - some are clean as a whistle others not so much
