We spent Saturday on Cloud 9 performing BâOperaâsâs new piece of childrenâs first opera-theatre, Fluffball the Flighty Cloud, with little ones and their families at CoCoMAD. Thank you Arts Council England, @OpusArtsEvents and Friends of Cotteridge Park for making it possible.
Buzzing with excitement from a fantastic international conference in the Faculty of Health Education and Life Sciences at Birmingham City University @mybcu where I presented on The Importance of Singing With Babies and Toddlers. #BCUIntweek24@BCUSocialWork@BCU_CYC
Also had the opportunity to listen to an array of fascinating sessions about social innovation, the history of @bhamchildtrust, social work and much much more. So impressive to hear the level of thinking and connecting up of different disciplines. #bcuintweek24@BCUSocialWork

BâOpera is 7 today. Happy birthday to us. I guess this makes us still FOR babies but not a baby any more. đ· ZoĂ« taking a break from talking about BâOpera and listening to fascinating speakers at a baby opera symposium in Italy today thanks to @reseonetwork
Please give if you can. Making music with these poorly babies, who can be in hospital for long periods of time, makes the most enormous difference. As one mother said âIt puts hope in our hearts.â bch.org.uk/double-donation-bâŠ

@BOpera brought us bucketloads of awe and wonder today. An in school theatre show, based around the story of a library tree. The performers sang opera to us and performed a tale of saving libraries from closure, as books are so important. Purely magical @DevonshireInf
3) Thatâs 360 young children introduced to the wonder of opera today and encouraged through storytelling to think about how to raise their own voice and have their own agency to advocate for libraries and arts.
#aliceandthelibrarytree#savelibraries#blackcountry#smethwick
2) Children used their voices and joined in - and the nursery children danced like swans, kangaroos, chickens, elephants and tortoises! They also demonstrated yet again that there is no one right way to play an instrument. #aliceandthelibrarytree
1) Alice spent #internationalwomensday singing with children at @DevonshireInf in Smethwick. We loved hearing how the story and the music impacted them - one staff member told us that a boy with SEN who never sits longer than a moment, sat calmly through the whole performance.
Please read. Please share. Please keep doing the small things that are in your power each day to engage with the arts, and bring their magic into the lives of your children.
