We are beyond excited before next weekend’s ladies day Bath Racecourse. The tickets have arrived for all 70 people who are supporting us and of course the highlight of the day for us will be the “Support Ben Saunders Foundation race” We will start ticket distributions today, gates open next Saturday at 11.20, we believe Bens races will be the 5th race which we believe will be around 3:45 🏇 We will be having bucket collections, and a tombola to raise a few pennies to support young people with cancer 💕 Under 18s are welcome and don’t need a ticket, we also hope loads of the ladies will be looking their glamorous best as Ladies day is the biggest event of Bath’s racing calendar. Thank you for keeping Bens memory alive 🏇💕

Family 500 (FIVE) hundred. 🙏💕 When we lost Ben to synovial sarcoma in August 2020 we had no idea if his foundation would take off but we poured our hearts and soul into it and thanks to everyone who has supported we are proud of our achievements to date. We pray that Ben is as well. We now own 2 beautiful holiday homes in the Cotswolds, we’ve raised over £1 Million and now we’ve welcomed our 500th “cancer” family to Hoburne Cotswold. Please join me in Welcoming Nicky, David, Bella and Poppy from very close to us in Bath 💕 We hope they can try to enjoy the weather and have a fabulous time. Here is beautiful Poppy’s journey Until March 2025, Poppy was ordinary 13 year old girl, she played sport everyday, was healthy and had 100% attendance at school. Poppy started complaining of a sore hip back in around November 2024, but it was very on and off, it would hurt for a day or so and then be completely fine for weeks, therefore we put it down to a sporting injury. In January 2025 the pain was getting more regular so we took her to the GP who referred her to physio and did some blood tests. A few days later Poppy was in severe pain so we took her to A&E, where she was given an xray. The A&E doctor said he couldn’t see anything and assured us there was nothing major and told us to go back to our GP. The blood tests however did show some inflammation, and the xray was finally reviewed by the official radiographers and an MRI organised. A week later following the MRI This we were shepherded into a small room and told the devastating news that Poppy had Ewing’s Sarcoma - a very rare form of bone cancer. Poppy has undergone 14 rounds of chemotherapy, 6 weeks of Proton Beam Therapy in London and major surgery to remove the tumour and a large portion of her pelvis - spending a month in hospital in Birmingham. Poppy is currently on crutches and in remission, we remain quietly hopeful for the future but are taking it each day as it comes - we know her journey will continue to be challenging. Having been completely splintered as a family we are so very thankful to the Ben Saunders Foundation for this time away together.

Family 494 This weekend we welcomed Manny’s family to the cotswolds. There are no words. Emanuel (Manny) qualified as a referee in 2023 when he was only 14. From the moment he started, he-showed exceptional commitment, maturity and enthusiasm for the game. Whether it was early-morning youth matches or late-evening fixtures, Manny gave every game his full attention and always looked to improve. Alongside his refereeing he was a keen footballer playing for a local team and followed his beloved Liverpool Football Club. In the early summer of 2025 Manny went out to referee a game as normal — just another weekend fixture — though he’d noticed a slight limp in the days before possibly from a football injury. He thought nothing of it at the time. However, only a few days later, he received devastating medical news that turned everything upside down. Doctors diagnosed him with terminal cancer. There was no long illness or warning — one day he was fit and well, and within days he and his family were faced with the heartbreaking news that his time is limited, and their lives have been changed forever. Emanuel told his siblings himself that he would die soon and supported and made sure they were prepared for his passing. This was a huge shock for everyone who knew him too! But through it all, Manny stayed true to himself — calm, positive and determined to keep things upbeat. That’s just typical Manny. His consultant had told him that this cancer could not be treated and he was going to die. Due to an unknown cancer diagnosis they decided to treat him for a Rhabdomyosarcoma. Manny was transferred to Manchester to start an intensive chemotherapy programme with a 3 weekly cycle. As the cancer spread around his body so did the tumours grow. His initial chemotherapy programme had stopped working and a more intense salvage regime was introduced alongside 10 fractions of radiotherapy. Mannys health got worse and the disease continued to take over his body. Manny was never going to get to kick a football again, the things he was told he would achieve throughout his fight were not going to happen, but his one wish was to die at home surrounded by his family. Manny passed away 9 months after his football injury. He did not want to die and fought his cancer journey even when others told him to give up. YNWA Manny 🙏

UPDATE ON CHARITY THIEF from the restaurant owner 🙏 As you know the theft happened 2 weeks ago but wasn’t noticed until yesterday. It was immediately reported to the police and the Ben Saunders Charity management straightaway. We’ve been advised today by the police that the individual is already in custody for something else so hopefully will be charged for this theft too. Thank you to everyone that has provided info and support, the Bath community is amazing and we’re proud to be part of it. For all the guys that have mentioned what they’re gonna do when they catch him, chill please! We’re all understandably enraged about it but let the police deal with it accordingly. For those that don’t know about the charity please do have a look into it and see what an amazing thing they do for young people and their families. For any donations you want to make, the link is below. Much love everyone ❤️ Ben Saunders Foundation bensaundersfoundation.org justgiving.com/campaign/BSF

Family 493 Today we have also welcomed Kate and Paul to our holiday homes in the cotwolds from all the way up in West Yorkshire. We hope they have a great weekend away and that Freddie gets loads of good fishing. Please join me in wishing them a lovely time. Here is Freddie’s journey. Two years ago this weekend, our son Freddie, then 11, was busy enjoying sports every day after school, playing cricket, football, and had just found a love for rugby. He had started to struggle with back pain, and tiredness and a blood test revealed leukaemia. From that phone call, everything changed! We travelled by ambulance to Leeds hospital, where Freddie spent almost two months, treatment has been absolutely gruelling. Just this past week, Freddie has had an operation to remove his port as it had stopped working, along with blood transfusions he is due two high doses of treatment in May, with his end of treatment in June. His brother is about to sit his GCSE exams next month, so life continues to be full on for us all. Leaving Yorkshire feels like a huge achievement, this is the furthest we have travelled in over two years. We are so incredibly grateful to Ben Saunders for giving us this opportunity to have some much-needed respite and time together as a family xx

We are beyond humbled to have been selected by the Perrin family following the passing of their legend of a father Mickey (Michael) Perrin. The foundation has today received a staggering £879.40 as we also received £50 direct from the Wiltshire County Football League. From the bottom of our hearts we thank everyone who made the donation in Mickey’s memory and of course to the Perrin family for selecting Bens foundation. The football world is beyond kind 🙏
