ALT A promotional image featuring the U.S. Capitol dome under a clear blue sky with wispy clouds. The text reads: "TCI - Teach the 250 with Primary Sources. Five sources. 250 years. Every learner." There is a small box reading "Explore Teach the 250" and additional text mentions a free sampler with curated primary sources and questions for different grade levels. An American flag is visible beneath the text.
ALT An educational resource page titled "In This Resource" lists items with illustrations. Items include a music piece "Hail, Columbia" (1798), a letter from Clara Barton (1862), Laura Smalley Interview transcript (1941), the “I Like Ike” campaign ad (1952), and Bicentennial Coins (1976). Images include sheet music, an elephant cartoon holding an "IKE" flag, and Bicentennial coins featuring profiles of influential figures. The page is from teachtci.com, displayed in a modern layout by Teachers' Curriculum Institute.
ALT An aged document with the visible text "To all to whom" appears above explanatory text about primary sources. It defines a primary source as a document or record from people present at events, such as a letter by a Civil War nurse, and describes the educational resource structure, including questions that prompt analysis and evaluation.
ALT "Hail, Columbia" is described on the left, mentioning its 1798 lyrics by Joseph Hopkinson and its historical significance as an unofficial U.S. anthem. The sheet music on the right showcases a title with "The Favourite New Federal Song" and an image, presumably of George Washington, above musical notes and lyrics. Large text highlights the song's role in George Washington's inauguration. Interactive buttons at the bottom offer options to listen or view the music.

“The one doing the most on-task talking is doing the most learning.”
Class discussions work best when students carry the thinking.
It’s hard not to jump in. But guiding from the side, and knowing when to hold back, shifts the learning where it belongs.
