We're British Transport Police Federation, a representative body funded by members, who we represent in matters affecting their welfare and efficiency.
Our thoughts are with our colleagues in Northern Ireland who have endured several nights of violence and aggression. Our Chair, Stuart Cowan has roundly condemned attacks on PSNI officers,
bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c20x…
He said: "An initially peaceful protest appears to have been hijacked by a minority of people who are intent on causing disorder. Their aggression has been directed not only at police officers on the frontline but also at other members of the community.
"Officers are reported to have had petrol bombs and bricks thrown at them. This mindless violence is totally unacceptable."
PSNI Chief Constable Jon Boutcher has urged people not to take to the streets tonight, warning those involved in disorder will be prosecuted.

The entire force is devastated about the loss of PC Rosie Prior.
Our thoughts are also with the family of Ryan Welford, 41, from Knaresborough who died at the scene.

ALT Read: The Crown Prosecution Service has charged two men with assault offences after an incident at Manchester Airport on 23 July 2024. We acknowledge that in this case, as in any other, the strength of feeling has been high. Our specially trained prosecutors are often at the forefront of dealing with high-profile cases subject to intense public and media scrutiny and will always make independent and objective decisions based on all available evidence.

We wear our poppies with pride as we remember those who lost their lives defending the freedoms we take for granted. We honour the sacrifices of those who have served in more recent conflicts and pause to think of those who returned with physical and mental scars. #ArmisticeDay

For your tomorrow, we gave our today.
