The boring label was earned while winning everything. He was, indeed, boring.
Now he’s not winning everything - still performing at a high level mind you - and he acts like a child.
Competitive fire is fine. In fact, it’s preferred. But be consistent. Show it when things are good, too. Club slamming and caddy blaming temper tantrums when everything isn’t perfect isn’t competitive fire. It’s emotional immaturity.

When I become president, first thing I’m doing is splitting the difference on DST. Second thing I’m doing is opening up deer hunting season year round and putting $50 bounty on each one. They are pests and a menace.

This is exactly the kind of move a Super Bowl runner-up makes because (like so many teams before them) they have convinced themselves they are "just one player away" from winning it all. They aren't.
They are a decent team that is betting the future on a malcontent playmaker. The result will be the same as it always is for these teams: falling woefully short of artificially high expectations. Hello 8-9. Hope it was worth the wait.
