We're devastated to share that Ray Peat passed away on Thanksgiving day. He was one of the most iconoclastic thinkers of his time, and we were incredibly fortunate to be able to meet and film him. We will share more info as it comes. Let's all raise a coffee mug in memory of Ray.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Michael Persinger.
C’est avec grande tristesse que nous annonçons le décès du professeur Michael Persinger.
Today the world lost a man of staggering intellect, perspicacity, and conviction. We feel fortunate to have spent some quality time filming with him, but this has blindsided us, as he seemed so robust. Thoughts to his family, friends, and students. @drpersinger@LaurentianU

Who would have thought that depression could be caused by life events? And that a class of drugs that supposedly raises serotonin, which is supposedly low in depression (both statements may be false), doesn’t really help?

Is everything we know about depression wrong? Mostly. When grief from life events isn't an accepted cause of depression, and the only accepted cause is a "broken brain" remedied by SSRIs, you have a broken system.
