The image shows Martinelli gasping for breath on the sidelines while his teammates were celebrating. I truly admire his energy and effort. I've never seen him complain or react negatively, even when facing intense criticism from fans. Sometimes I get annoyed watching him play so monotonously, but I never "hate" him. This moment was captured by photographers David Price & Catherine Ivill. 📸
Eze defended and almost fainted. He kept looking at Martinelli like how tf are you still going 😭 He could not believe that his legs were still on the ground 😭 I give him props for actually going till the end. It will strengthen his mind and prepare him for what’s to come.

Playing in the Champions League final is where I want to be, and this is what I want to do. We will try again next season, and if there is another penalty to be taken, I will be there again. All the great players have missed big penalties and gone through these kinds of moments. I received messages from everyone. "For me, this is not something I wish didn't happen. I am grateful that it happened. I will grow from it, learn from it, and move forward." 💬

He's a top defender, ready to die for the team. We've known each other perfectly for four years now, and he even speaks French. He's a bit more of a one-on-one type, while I tend to cover more; we complement each other well. He's more of a vocal leader than I am. I hear the comments about him being more of a boss than me, but honestly, we're very complementary. We each strengthen each other; it's not one of us carrying the other. I'm more of a leader through what I do and how I do it. For example, when I don't panic under pressure, it creates a sense of calm. Similarly, when I win my duels, it gives everyone confidence. We have the best defense in the Premier League (27 goals conceded), which wasn't the case before I returned to the club in 2022, when Gabriel had already been playing for two seasons. I certainly deserve some credit for this success, don't I?”

The data from the match exposes his role perfectly. The 18-year-old attempted 66 passes and completed 59 of them. That is the profile of a control valve operating securely under maximum pressure.

He draws the Brazilian press centrally, naturally isolating wide creators in 1 v 1 situations. The projection is his ability to completely control the tempo and manufacture wide overloads without ever registering a key pass or an assist.

Completing 59 of 66 passes isn't just about safe retention; it's about dictating the opposition's pressing triggers. By continuously executing calculated, low-risk passes, he acts as bait.

My #1 Partey replacement, Ayyoub Bouaddi starting vs Real Madrid on his 17th birthday The more I’ve watched Bouaddi, the more I’ve heard about/seen his personality, the more I’m convinced he’s destined for the top Get him whilst we can 🎥: @OussoudBall

Technique and finesse from Mcginnn The defenders could've done better there too IMO

People comparing Tzolis to Trossard don’t understand fundamental data. Trossard is a final-action finisher who thrives on minimal touches (around 38 per game) to kill games. Tzolis is a 24-year-old high-volume engine who demands the ball constantly to dictate tempo on the left flank. Different roles. Different stratospheres of responsibility. Stop the lazy comparisons

It's concerning to see that Ancelloti tried many systems was switching to find the right one and didn't even try to call Martinelli in to try to tweek somethings... Hmmmmm..

Brazil’s possession was entirely sterile. Having the ball means nothing if you are operating within the exact geographical zones the opponent wants you in. Morocco completely surrendered territory to weaponize being compact, deploying a passive mid-block that explicitly baited Casemiro and Bruno Guimarães into safe, lateral circulation.

Morocco wasn't hanging on for a draw after Ismael Saibari opened the scoring in the 20th minute; they dictated the exact rhythm of the game without needing the ball.

Forcing a team loaded with Vinícius Jr., Raphinha, and Lucas Paquetá to pass sideways into a brick wall for 90 minutes is the ultimate display of structural discipline. This wasn't a lucky point for Morocco; it was an execution of complete defensive control.

Guendouzi is an emotional, box-to-box chaotic engine who wants to aggressively carry the ball and disrupt structures. Bouaddi is the complete opposite: a cold-blooded, press-resistant defensive anchor, Against a Brazilian midfield he played the full 90 minutes and provided absolute structural security.
What the hype about Bouaddi ? What the difference between him and Mattéo Guendouzi?

At 1.86m, his frame is built for the top level, but his current game relies on positional intelligence rather than raw physical dominance, evident by him sitting deep, winning his single tackle, and drawing fouls to break up play.

As his physicality matures over the next three years, that elite positional IQ will be paired with overwhelming duel-winning capacity. He is currently a stabilizer; the projection is his evolution into a physical system-destroyer.
