Year 2 post #damremoval biomass monitoring complete! Staff just returned from 4 weeks of sampling across the #Saugeen River watershed. 70 sites electrofished and thousands of fish weighed and measured. Can't wait to analyze the data! #fieldwork

We radiotagged another 50 #RainbowTrout this weekend. 300 have now been tagged since 2018 and their movement is tracked year-round to monitor the effects of #dams and a #damremoval on passage throughout the #Saugeen River watershed. Check out the process- condensed to 1.5mins!

Final set of baseline #radiotracking data following #RainbowTrout migration is now up- part 3 (spring 2019) of a long-term #damremoval monitoring study in the Saugeen River. The Truax Dam was removed Aug 2019 to increase #fishpassage across the watershed

Monday- a great tracking flight with @FlyOwenSound. Tuesday- installed a new fixed #telemetry receiver station monitoring #fishpassage at a key #dam and #fishway, bringing our total to 6 across the river
