Yet private rail operators have been given #COVID19 bailouts
Tell @GrantShappas to do his job and stop playing politics with peoples livelihoods

Really pleased to see @grantshapps issue safeguarding directions for Bakerloo Line Extension to Lewisham. Whilst the scheme is still some way off, this is good news for South East London. Now just have to sort out how to pay for it ... londonnewsonline.co.uk/baker…
Today @TfL confirms the new Tube map from January will temporarily feature Thameslink @TLRailUK. Helping passengers plan safe travel across the capital.
Hugely positive that Government has said they will proceed with safeguarding the Bakerloo Line Extension to Lewisham. Small issue of funding to sort out now ... lewisham.gov.uk/articles/new…
NEW. Government approves safeguarding of Bakerloo Line extension route sites in #Southwark and #Lewisham: onlondon.co.uk/government-ap…. Small but vital step towards important potential major new transport infrastructure in the capital.
The Transport Secretary @grantshapps has agreed to safeguard the route of the Bakerloo Line Extension, protecting land required to construct the line from premature development. This is a clear show of confidence in the scheme & a victory for our #BackTheBakerloo campaign 😃👍🏽
Well clearly Brenda if you ask everyone in Catford if they want to be connected to Bromley they will say yes. Now ask everyone in Bromley if they want to be connected to Catford and I think you'll find quite a different answer!
Today @TfL published their response to the Bakerloo Line consultation -> tinyurl.com/y4bo7y8y
It has enormous backing from Lewisham, Southwark & Bromley residents, and @BorisJohnson agrees that it is a fantastic project. We need the govt to work with @TfL to #BackTheBakerloo
⚠️DONT LET THE GOVERNMENT BURY THIS DEVELOPMENT 🚇
if they’re serious about building back stronger, and kick starting our economy post #coronavirus, this infrastructure project with it’s GIANT returns could be part of the solution.

The Bakerloo Line Extension will bring vital jobs, homes, opportunities & sustainable travel to Lewisham through to Hayes. This project is going to need Central Gov financing as well as including other options to get it built. It will give much need economic boost to our SE area
There is support in *every* ward affected for the Bakerloo line extension -
🚂 Hayes & Coney Hall/West Wickham = 68% support
🚞 Clockhouse = 78% support
🚆 Eden & Kelsey park = 84%
🚂 Copers Cope & Penge & Cator = 86%
I welcome Sainsbury’s withdrawal of its planning application at New Cross Gate at this time. The site is TfL’s preferred option for constructing the Bakerloo Line Extension and location of a new tube station.
Now we can all focus on bringing the Bakerloo line to Lewisham.
