For your next four regular sends, send an alternate blog-post style email to 10% and send no emails to another 10%. 80% to regularly planned.
Analyze revenue #'s after the a month and see whether customers who get blog style content are more likely to convert.
In certain niches, detailed or unique content can perform. It's a big investment though, so important to AB test properly before you go all in on this type of content.
If you're a bigger brand, you can send this style of content to customers based on affinity (you likely have a cohort that wants this type of content, and another cohort that doesn't).
