A small nation like Curaçao, with a population of just around 200,000, has played in the World Cup, while a country of 1.4 billion people like India hasn't played a single FIFA World Cup.
Lack of talent isn't the problem. India has no shortage of gifted footballers. The real issue is years of poor administration, lack of grassroots investment, and corruption that prevents young talent from getting opportunities.
At this rate, we may not see India on the World Cup stage for decades. It's genuinely frustrating and heartbreaking as a football fan.
Indian football deserves better.
