The photos of our Kim Seokjin Whale was adorable but here's a majestic video of him swimming around the Babuyan Marine Corridor π³β¨οΈπ
According to BalyenaOrg, humpback whales π migrate to the Babuyan Marine Corridor π to breed, give birth, and nurse their young π which is an IMPORTANT marine mammal area that should be protected π

Some whaley good news to BTS fans π We encountered PH122, a.k.a. Kim Seokjin and he was singing beautifully! He has visited the Babuyan Marine Corridor for ten seasons (now 11), he was one of eight whales adopted by BTS ARMY Cavite back in 2021.

Sharing a first for our humpback #whale research in the Babuyan Marine Corridor. We deployed an Ecological Acoustic Recorder (EAR) off Camiguin Norte Island! It will record underwater #humpbackwhale songs.

Project update! Jo Marie Acebes, DVM, PhD, Founder & Principal Investigator at @BalyenaOrg & a @NEAQ MCAF Project Leader, saw 70 cetaceans over 23 field days, including Bryde's & Omura's whales, the Bohol Sea is a whale feeding ground, & educational outreach begins in November!
