It was great to partner up with @buryfcofficial and @BuryCouncil raising awareness of hate crime and to embrace diversity.
⚪🔵 On Sunday at Gigg Lane, we hosted the Red Card to Hate event, a multicultural hate crime awareness event brought communities together through football, culture and conversation. Organised by Bury Council as part of ongoing community work following the recent synagogue attack, the event saw members of the Jewish community, local police community groups and partners come together for an 11-a-side match focused on unity and inclusion. Alongside this, we delivered a mixed-sex walking football showcase, demonstrating how the game can be accessible, welcoming and inclusive for all. The BAME community also hosted cultural activities at Starkies, including food tasting and dance, helping create a real celebration of diversity. Events like this underline the power of football to connect people, challenge discrimination and stand firmly against hate in all its forms. We’re proud to have been part of a day that placed respect, understanding and community at the heart of everything. @Buryfc_cotrust  #BuryFC | #bfc140

Help Us Protect Our Safe Space for Women & Girls For six years, The BAME Project has been a lifeline for women and girls in our community—especially those from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic backgrounds who face isolation, discrimination, and cultural barriers to wellbeing. What makes our journey even more powerful is that every part of our leadership has been entirely voluntary. A passionate team of women has dedicated their time, skills, and lived experience to ensure that our community has a safe, trusted and culturally sensitive space. Through grants and the generosity of supporters, we have delivered transformative programmes including: • Self-defence and personal safety courses • Cost-of-living awareness and financial resilience workshops • Hate crime awareness and community safety sessions • Confidence-building activities, wellbeing support and peer groups •Bury Mela, bringing the diverse community together, building community cohesion These sessions have empowered hundreds of women and girls. Many tell us this is the only place where they feel heard, understood and safe. But today, we face our biggest challenge. Due to recent unsuccessful funding bids, we are now at risk of losing our community space—our safe haven for vulnerable women. Without new financial support or sponsorship, we may be forced to close our doors. We urgently need your help. Your support can directly: • Keep our safe space open and accessible • Sustain our women-led, volunteer-driven leadership • Fund essential workshops and support groups • Provide practical help to women facing hardship, violence or discrimination • Ensure we can continue serving the community that relies on us How You Can Help • Make a one-off or monthly donation • Become a sponsor or corporate/community partner • Fund specific programmes or training sessions • Provide in kind support • Share our appeal with others who may be able to help Donation Details The BAME Project Account: 26321580 Sort Code: 010142 Contact Us Email: thebameprojectbyuf@gmail.com Phone: 07519 356093 Every contribution, no matter the size has a profound and immediate impact. Please stand with us. Help us keep The BAME Project alive. Together, we can protect a vital safe space and ensure every woman has the chance to feel safe, supported, and empowered.
