“The artificial turf industry has [convinced] millions… its short-lived, nonrecyclable, fossil-fuel-derived product is… good for the environment. Were there a greenwashing hall of fame, this would be in it.” -Charles Miller, a Climate Reality Project chair #BanPlasticTurf

“Maybe none of these changes will make a difference... The challenge is that we rarely get certainty. We make the best decisions we can with the info we have, guided by love & a desire to leave our children a healthier world than the one we inherited.” blanphear.substack.com/p/a-l…

"Artificial turf fields have become an expensive bandage for field mismanagement. Too often, municipalities invest in products instead of people, installing synthetic carpets rather than hiring trained sports field managers to properly maintain natural grass. But the long-term math is clear. Over its full life cycle, an artificial turf field typically costs at least twice as much as a well-managed grass field." jerseyvindicator.org/2026/04…

Is your school/city planning to install a new artificial turf system? Discourage them from wasting a million tax dollars on an infill-free version. California high school football coaches & administrators voted that as their LEAST favorite to play on. facebook.com/FieldTurf/posts…

One of the biggest mistakes humans make is thinking we are separate from nature instead of part of it. People destroy ecosystems, disrespect animals, pollute oceans and forests, then speak about rising diseases, extreme weather, food problems, and instability as if these things appeared randomly. Nature does not negotiate, feel sympathy, or care about excuses. Every action has a response. The problem is that by the time humans finally notice it, the damage is already much harder to reverse.

“A MASS CASUALTY EVENT” 166 attendees overcome by heat. 16 hospitalized. Artificial turf is marketed as an all-weather surface. But in reality, using it in sun can be dangerous. The plastic can get hotter than concrete. A common prob in grad season. yahoo.com/news/officials-shu…
