as a Cadet in Highschool, my Position for a time was teaching US Flag code.
The biggest takeaway from that (and at least one SCOTUS Case) is that its a /guideline/ how you should treat it, not a rule.
Sunday was Flag Day. #SnoCoPW once again is proud to have partnered with Scouts BSA Troop 36 in Lake Stevens to help ceremoniously retire American flags that have been discarded at county facilities. If you have a flag no longer suitable for flying, don’t throw it in the trash, drop it off in the flag receptacles at all three of the county transfer stations. Info: bit.ly/SnoCoSW

I believe we played taps and had a salute.
The biggest thing is just, show respect to the flag.
This is one of those annoying myths that persists about the US Flag that just makes me roll my eyes years later.
up there with "If the flag hits the ground you have to retire it"

BLUF: "Treat the flag like your grandmother/grandfather." was how we'd convey it to folks.
You (probably) wouldn't light your grandmother on fire if she fell, but you also (probably) wouldn't purposely do stuff to disrespect her either

todays hiccup: the Brand-newish Transponder failed.
the Guy I work with at least warned me ahead of time it was gonna be a possibility since this model has had a lot of issues as of late.
Fortunately its still going to be a sub 1 AMU cost, but, still not fun.

End of an era.
The final flight of the AV-8B Harrier as a USMC and US military aircraft. Their last mission was in support of capturing Maduro.
VMA-223 will conduct the sundown ceremony at Cherry Point today. A few of the remaining airframes will be sold to Spain or be placed in museums, while the rest will be scrapped.
Farewell to La Muerta Negra, or the "Black Death" as the aircraft was nicknamed during the Falklands.
