I'm comfortable giving the student who needed 4 attempts to master a skill the same grade as the student who only needed 1 attempt.
'If' a student learns is more important to me than 'when.'

We are hopeful that Virginia will follow Georgiaβs lead. Letβs invest in our students and teachers and not in a test that causes so much aniexty. Now is the time to make the changes we need in our education system.
Georgia is suspending standardized testing for the upcoming school year & formal teacher evals and are seeking to permanently cut certain tests. This will also save $10's of millions from the budget that can be used toward teacher pay, etc. Let's hope other states step up!

Teacher, as you enter Week 3 with your students, be reminded that your content area is secondary when you log on. It's those reassuring conversations that matter...it's answering their questions that matter. The content will come but it's that human factor that matters most.
