Our household of 4 uses about 40,000 litres of water per year, seemingly.
This is less than average (that'll be thanks to the frugal soap dodger ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟ๐ซ๐งผ living here, no doubt) but let's go with 10,000 litres as being the average consumption per person per year in the UK.
That means that as a result of 10 million more people living here than 30 years ago, our water consumption as a nation has increased by 100 billion litres per year since then.
And yet, not only have we not built any new reservoirs since then, many have been sold off and/or taken out of use.
We really need to put this idea that it's "climate change" that's causing water shortages in the UK, to bed, once and for all.
