Y'all I've been surprisingly excited to be putting together this last minute lecture about #boardgame #gamedesign for my students this Friday. My partner understood everything with zero education about game design. I just might be okay at this teaching thing.

To elaborate: It is okay to have some random elements in your game to create variety, but the player should ALWAYS have a way to strategically opt out for reliable momentum. Give your players opportunities to make smart choices and they will love you for it. #boardgames #design

In fun news: I gave my first ever "Crash Course for Page Layout" in my Game Design class and the students seem to find it very useful! This might be something I also make available to the public on my personal website after I release it to my students. #boardgames #teaching

Graphic design is an area that is often overlooked in small and mid level game publishers and I think it would benefit the entire industry to have more readily available information on the subject out in the wild. At least that's what my students and colleagues tell me. 😅

Hey @metrolosangeles : Your buses should really make a habit of stopping this late at night when you only run one every hour if we're lucky. It doesn't feel good to get abandoned alone on the street corner at 1:00 a.m. with my bike. 😮‍💨
