Here is a ten-minute explanation of what Socially Shared Learning Regulation looks like when done using a Barriers and Strategies protocol. It lives on the website now, under "Information for Educators." #ActivatedLearning #NerdAlert youtube.com/watch?v=u3M_e9ZX…

@LCFaith Practicing our listening skills, emotional control and response inhibition. Can you listen quietly to the sound, make a guess, and store it inside your brain instead of blurting out? Yes we can!

I'm sending my kindergarten parents links to FREE, online decodable books for practice over the summer. I'm sharing in the thread below; please feel free to add any I've missed. Must be completely free, and preferably no registration, etc., required. Thanks!

Replying to @LCFaith
@LCFaith is a genius; she's also a worthy addition to any staff meeting and has been known to speak well in front of others. Teachers, invite her into your school, you won't regret it. I may be biased of course, but educators do need this book! @guilfordpress

The “ladder of inference” from a friend who’s used this with elementary school students. This is likely to be helpful to many adults too…whether on the pandemic or politics. untools.co/ladder-of-inferen…

Hey #activatedlearning teachers. If you're doing the BSP and someone wants 4 minutes of background on why... show them this! You can model the practice and then pull up this video on your phone to fill in your colleagues. wevideo.com/view/2580576015

We hear a lot about getting back the green zone. To successfully implement the Zones with your learners we encourage using the language “taking care of our Zones,” OR “managing our Zones” so learners don’t feel pressure to be in or get back to the Green Zone. #zonesofregulation
