Little directing sizzle reel for 2022. On this evidence, I'm moderately competent at pointing cameras at people in rooms, and sometimes outside. Keen to hear if this is a talent I can put to use on your behalf. vimeo.com/250211885

Just about caught up on sleep after this year's @scifilondon #sfl48hr challenge. Huge thanks to the wonderful folks who made it happen. This year's film features renegade androids, hard-boiled PIs, and so many bad jokes that I needed a director's cut to fit them all in.

Oh, and I wasn't kidding about the Director's Cut: youtube.com/watch?v=FeTtxas8… (nine minutes! What on earth was I thinking)

Delighted that my oddball Hackney folk-horror-ish short 'I Wonder What's Keeping My True Love Tonight' will be premiering this Friday at @LondonIFF! Looking forward to screening in the gorgeous @GenesisCinema

It’s not quite midnight on Hallowe’en, so here’s something a little spooky… youtu.be/fK-I9HqHGBc

The other year I found the footage on a hard drive and decided it was worth doing something with, and turned my dog-walk imaginings about the landscape into a short script (also very much inspired by the likes of M. R. James, Algernon Blackwood, and @HooklandGuide).

Me being me, it then took another year to get around to finishing it – which I did the other day, with the excellent @markkeeganactor stepping in to narrate! And here it is.

Very chuffed to see that 'Gutterwitch' has crept past a quarter-of-a-million views on @WatchALTER! Massive thanks to everyone who's given it a watch, and huge props to the brilliant cast and crew who got it done on a budget of practically nothing.

Enormous thanks to @actress_jo and @neleganceitself for crewing our cardboard spaceship, to @BalduzziFuoco for helping to build it, and to my ludicrously tolerent flatmates for letting me turn the living room into a bombsite over the weekend.

The brief we were given: Title - Where Are They Now? Dialogue - 'What do you think you look like?' Prop/Action - a character takes a container and tries to open it, it won't budge. They tap it on a surface and succeed on second try.

Throughout WW2 the RNLI saved downed Luftwaffe pilots from the seas. Because that's what the RNLI does. It saves lives. Regardless of who they are or why they're there. That's something to be immensely proud of if you're British. This attitude is not.
Whoever made the disgraceful decision to pick up illegal migrants from French waters after those migrants refused to be rescued by the French should be sacked TODAY. What next - a taxpayer funded luxury ferry service?
