YOUR HIGH POINT PANTHERS ADVANCE TO THE ROUND OF 32!!!!!!! #ROLLTHERS

So to recap the Big South tournament for High Point: 1) The Big South Started a whole tournament in an area that was forecasted for heavy rain all week/weekend with seemingly no back up plan, even though areas just a an hour or two away had better forecasts and numerous conference tournaments in the surrounding area were able to complete their tournaments on schedule. 2) Made the 1 seed start a game against the 4 seed on Thursday when the forecast was obvious it would not be finished. A couple innings into the game called delay, had them sit around getting prepared to play and then canceled the game prioritizing the 2/3 game later that night which was completed on schedule. 3) Made the 1 seed come back and burn a second day of starting pitching just to win one game while the winner of the 2/3 game sat at home with an extra day rest. 4) Then made the 1 seed turn around the next day and pack everything up and drive an hour to play the 2 seed who had a whole extra day’s rest and didn’t have to play each of the previous two days. 5) Then after losing that game made the 1 seed immediately turn around and play their fourth game in 72 hours against a rested team in a game that started after 10pm. Listen it’s not sour grapes for losing. Baseball is baseball, anything can happen in a game or tournament but this was an absolute master class in mismanagement by the Big South.

This doesn’t matter much for HPU because no matter where the tournament is, we will show up in droves However I hope the Big South picks a venue more central to the Carolinas next year. Tournament is better when as many fans as possible (across the conference) can come.

Commitment Alert: High Point has landed a commitment from South Florida transfer guard CJ Brown (@CorBrown02) This past season at South Florida, Brown averaged 10.9 PPG, 4.7 APG and 3.9 RPG. Brown played for High Point assistant Ben Fletcher during his freshman season at USF.

Commitment Alert: High Point has received a commitment from Monmouth transfer Jason Rivera Torres (@jasonriv23) This past season at Monmouth, Rivera Torres averaged 15.8 PPG and 8.1 RPG. Rivera is well known for also being on the Apple TV show, Swagger.
