The Wheelock-and Tande-to-Saskatchewan transmission project reached key milestones in May with two major approvals:
1) A site compatibility permit by the North Dakota PSC on May 14
2) A Presidential Permit by the U.S. DOE on May 21

Basin Electric’s latest project to come on line—Springbrook substation, located approximately 10 miles from Williston, North Dakota—was energized on April 8, along with the 6.5-mile 115-kilovolt transmission line connecting it to the East Fork substation.
