Our lab researches the hypothesis that specific t(4;14) breakpoints have prognostic value and might be used to make treatment decisions. This has already been reported in the clinical literature but hospitals have not implemented this test due in part to lack of consensus among experts, i.e. unpublished results.
What we can do in the lab is provide convincing data to form an expert consensus and more importantly real world predictions for patients and treatment guidelines for physicians.
If I had smoldering w t(4;14) I would not want āSOCā dara. I would want to know first:
1. What other mutations do I have on WGS?
2. Which t(4;14) breakpoint do I have?
3. What is my ACA11 expression level?
4. Do you have the @k36tx study open yet?
3/3
Academia is dismantling itself faster than its critics can. Students (and paying parents) want an education from subject matter experts, not glitchy course software. Do not be fooled that this means access. It means the soft bigotry of low expectations.

I opened this place a week ago after seeing my husband here and wondering what I'd find and it's mostly what I'd expect. Bots. Echo chambers. AI. Self promotion. All feeding into the ideal that its owner set, that we'd all be replaced in a couple of years.

TD spent 20 minutes arguing with me that the trachea was a bone. I tried to explain that I have been studying the lungs for twice her lifetime, but she was ready to die on this hill. Until I googled it and showed her. Good she requires primary data over opinion?
