You didn't ask for it but here's my 2 cents for anyone who'd like
#ContentCreator success advice from a mid tier at best career content creator... 🤣
5 years since I started my journey in content creation (Twitch).
Everyone always asks "What does it take to succeed?"
But no one asks "What's the biggest pitfall?"
IMO... self entitlement has been where I've seen SO MANY creators fall from their platform... that and burn out!
No one owes you anything.
Manage your expectations.
Don't compare your journey to others.
My advice for succeeding and making content creation into a business? Make sure you're enjoying every aspect. Don't make content you find tedious, just because you think it will boost stats/works for others... it takes a ridiculous amount of work and sacrifice to make it a business, I'd bet more than you think you're willing to invest right now. So if you aren't enjoying it, you WILL burn out! If things are getting stale/not working, change things up before you get to the point you resent making content!
Your enjoyment and energy will elevate your content... being miserable for the sake of a career you think will make you bank and be easy eventually if you 'grind it out' will definitely not... the more successful you are, the harder you will have to work.
The past 5 years have been the best of my life and I'm thankful every day I was lucky enough to find a path into this career... but we often don't offer an insight into the work it takes in fear of seeming unappreciative. It's A LOT. More than I ever thought/was willing to invest... but I do it because I LOVE it and feel I have the best job in the world for me, my family and I wouldn't change a thing 🧡
I don't know what spurred this post... just wanted to share for anyone who'd appreciate my thoughts 🤣 feel free to share yours in the comments!
