NEW: A bill to ban bottom trawling in marine protected areas has been successful in the Lords Private Members Bill ballot 🚫
Last year, UK offshore MPAs underwent 33,000 hours of suspected bottom trawling. It's not good enough! We must get this vital bill passed into law NOW 🌊
Today the House of Lords PMB ballot took place with a few drawn on climate and nature including a Bill to ban bottom trawling in MPAs (Baroness Ritchie), and a Bill to introduce a duty for public bodies to further climate and nature targets (Lord Krebs)
