So obviously neon got nerfed into the floor and here is my argument for everybody that I’ve talked to you about this.
I’ve argued time and time again that no character in Valorant is inherently “ fun “ to play against if they’re using their abilities perfectly. That being said, I think there are some characters that are significantly less frustrating. I’m not denying that neon is a frustrating character to play around, but I think her counter play is significantly easier than any of these other characters. For example, I always use Waylay when I talk about this stuff. I don’t think she’s inherently strong. In fact I don’t think she’s very good but if you’re playing against a good one, their abilities make you unable to play the game. In order to play around neon you just have to be able to predict and shoot and that’s all there is to it. I also think that especially at my rank there’s a lot of people that don’t play her correctly me included. I run in and die alone a lot when I shouldn’t.
When it comes to games like this, I’ve always been in favor of buffing counter characters and not nerfing another character into the floor. If everybody is strong than nobody strong.
That being said the devs need to figure out what they want their game to be. Do they want the game to be dominated by characters or do they want the game to be dominated by gunplay. Overwatch is dominated by characters. Counterstrike is dominated by gunplay. What is Valorant dominated by?
I’ve said this once and I’ll say it again. I think people should speak up about what they have wrong with the games they play in order for them to be better. Rust and DayZ are some of my favorite games ever and I talk shit about them all the time with the pursuit of them being better. I do enjoy Valorant . People always tell me if I don’t like the characters that I should go back and play counterstrike but I want to like and I want to play VALORANT. Therefore, I should want what I feel like is best for it.
