Self-loathing, or illusion of being in control?
Or, maybe, both?
Was eager to explore my headcanon, where Alastor docked his own tail. This composition broke my brain, but it was fun working on the background.

I am open for 5 slots for BWR illustrations.
Artwork doesn't have to be Hellaverse related, btw, and I am especially fond of anthros.
(NSFW is possible, but can be discussed ONLY if we have worked before and I am familiar with your character.)
Elias, or the Birdcatcher, musical Overlord.
His singing birds mostly perform for closed public, midst sinners of a higher status.
He is highly demanding, where perfectionism meets unthinkable violence. All his retired singing birds - are dead singing birds.

Alastor with Chronic Wasting deer Disease (CWD), which basically turns one's brain into a swiss cheese.
At this point he doesn't realize who/what/where and his coordination fails him miserably.
Shouldn't have eaten all those raw deer..

He ain't aggressive (as much as it's possible for him, lol), just very lost, destined to wander his bayou 'til his body finally collapses and gives up.
Might draw more of that..

CW: Mild gore.
Abused by a musical Overlord for her singing voice 'til breaking point.
Even when the throat and vocal cords have healed - the silence is what remained for a long time.
Reality was much more frightful, no sacrifice could have saved her crew, she wasn't enough. Only nine of dozens singing birds remained to tell the tale, six of them followed her to start a new life, essentially becoming a found family.
At least now her voice didn't belong to anybody, even if one could no longer hear it.
How a group of sinners succeeded to break their contract with an Overlord - maybe a tale for another time.
