I will take a moment though of gratitude for Dr Jean Calder AC- as I look to the future it was a privilege to listen to incredible stories about the woman who started much of the work in HMNS @UQHealth in physical activity for kids with disabilities. A truly remarkable woman
#UQ joined @QldGov today to proudly announce support for a world-leading Paralympic Centre of Excellence at our St Lucia campus.
We’ll work with @AusParalympics and government on design concepts to ensure the centre is fully accessible and aim to start construction in 2-3 years.
The Paralympic Centre of Excellence will foster our Paralympians in 20 sports, increase grassroots para-sports participation, and create an important legacy for Queensland, and people with disabilities.
