We've been celebrating #otweek2021 at Beckside this week, whilst we deliver health and wellbeing for our care farmers through meaningful activities. As we do 52 weeks of the year. This smile makes us think we're doing a good job! π¦ππ

Volunteer wanted!
Would you like to put smiles like this on care farmers' faces? Utilise the skills you already have, and learn new ones as an Activity Facilitator at our care farm.
Get in touch if you would like to volunteer with us on Tuesdays and/ or Thursdays.

#MondayMotivation Hello Iβm one of the residents here at Beckside. I'm 38 horse years which makes me 114 human years! I've got a few health problems, but I still enjoy the good food I get here, and a trot around with my friends. Up and at it folks, motion is the best lotion! π

At 3pm today real feel temperature was -11 with us π₯Ά. Alpaca have fantastically warm, waterproof and wind chill resistant fleece so our three boys weren't at all worried about #StormDarcy and even stopped to pose for a photo for you π #MondayMotivation

We took part in the #RSPB Big Garden Bird Watch Watch π today and we can't believe our luck as we spotted a pair of stunning redwing along with blackbirds, blue tits, wrens and our friendly robin. They all clearly like our fat ball recipe ππ¦π¦

If you look up tonight you might see the first full moon of the year, the Wolf Moon, said to be named after howling wolves - we can't hear any wolves but we do enjoy a #fullmoon! π

You may not be aware but the famous Scottish Poet, Robert Burns, was a farmer. One of his most famous poems 'To a Mouse', was written after he'd accidentally turned over the nest of a tiny field mouse with his plough. 'Happy #BurnsNight' π

No llama queens here! We're getting on with normal rounds, with extra rations for all, despite several inches of snow and frozen water troughs. Don't forget to feed and water wild birds in your gardens today, they'll be very grateful. π΄ππ¦ππ¦
