YES, IT'S COFFEE POT OF BEER TIME! Today's Java Fix is @sawdustcitybeer Juicin' New England Style IPA. Created by brewers James and Caleb, this is huge peach but more importantly, a hazy with a big, thick body. Oats and wheat malts will do that. At 6%, a longtime favourite!

IT'S BEER IN A COFFEE POT TIME! While Boneshaker sets a high bar for west coast piney beers, so too does @amsterdambeer 6.5% Boneshaker Juicy Haze IPA. It's not the peach or melon. It's the body. It has some. Steps above most of its thinner juicy and hazy breathen. A tasty pot!

Shortly after Mimosa Madness, my buddy @GaryBohamed reached out about helping organize an event celebrating some of the OGs of Vegas social content.
The second he mentioned some of the names he had in mind, I was all in. A lot of these creators were the people who inspired me jump into Vegas content in the first place.

IT'S COFFEE POT OF BEER TIME! Red Ales are a style that is slowly fading from view. (Ditto Black IPAs and Slushie Sours.) Brewers aren't making them as much because no one's buying. (Guilty as charged.) A shame because @RailwayCity Iron Spike is a great example of the style.

YES, IT'S COFFEE POT OF BEER TIME! Here's a perfect pairing! While that usually refers to beer and food, this time it's what's in the carafe - @TomorrowBrewCo Double Up Coffee Milk Stout. Using lactose for the cream flavour, this 6.5% brew tastes a lot like my double double.

IT'S FRIGID FEBRUARY AND THAT MEANS STOUTS! From tiny Blyth, Ontario, from @CowbellBrewing here's their Chocolate Imperial Nitro Stout. You're supposed to crack it and then hold the can upside-down above the glass. I can't do that and slowly side-pour. At 9.5%, it's choco magic!

FEBRUARY IS BORING... BUT ONLY 28 DAYS! So @bellwoodsbeer and @BloodBrothersTO did a couple of collabs and Goblin's Trill Double IPA was one. (Trill usually refers to the sounds birds make while warbling.) Mostly peach and orange here, 8%, thick, rich and smooth. Super drinkable.

YEAH, FEBRUARY IS COLD... BUT IT'S SHORT! Back to one-at-a-time beers (but repeated as needed.) Okay, here's @refinedfool We Blew Through Our Crown Budget IPA (no idea.) Just 5% so to me a Pale Ale, this is nonetheless quite good. West coast, tart from a berry (blackberry?) 👍👍

IT'S BEER AND BURRITO TIME! Tried a new burrito place today and it's a beauty. Apparently, Burrito Guyz is a small southern Ontario chain and they made a helluva good ground beef burrito. Washing it down is a @refinedfool Big Sexy IPA, a tasty west coaster. Perfect Sunday snack.

DOUBLE-FISTED JANUARY COMES TO A CLOSE! Tomorrow, all those poor folks observing Dry January can crack 'em and smile! For me, the year's only 55 day month ends with my local @refinedfool Todd Is An Absolute Beauty Pale Ale. Mostly orange with a bit of passionfruit, it's a banger!

DOUBLE-FISTED JANUARY... As this, the longest month of the year with 63 days winds down (no wonder @Pennys2Vegas bailed on Dry January), here's one from local @refinedfool, their Van Full of Weirdos Juicy IPA. I think this may have been their first hazy. 6.2%, orange, the usual.

DOUBLE-FISTED JANUARY! Out of Grand Bend, an hour north of me on Lake Huron shoreline, Torched Brewing is only open 3 days/week (Friday-Sunday.) Their Hazy IPA is typical of the style. At 5.8%, it's the orange-melon flavour mostly. Decent but nothing memorable, to be honest.

YESTERDAY'S DOUBLE-FISTED JANUARY! You like chocolate? Step on up. The @CameronsBrewing Chockie Wockie Chocolate Milkshake Stout has the sweet cocoa bean in spades, baby! I really wish my Oakville friends would make this year-round. Could use a chocolate beast in the summer!

DOUBLE-FISTED JANUARY CONTINUES! From my local @refinedfool, here's their Pouch Envy IPA. Okay, #1) This is 5%. That's a Pale Ale in my books. To me, IPAs start at 6%. And #2) This brewery makes some great beers but man, this is thin. SO thin. I'll stick to their others.
