Rotated frames in 2 demarees.
Nuc from Linnet demaree with QC, fail, DLQ.
Marked Linnet.
Red-eyed drone. Only when cropping photo did I notice odd looking cell.

Check 'that' frame again 2 days. Can't see any problems. Nectar dripping out. ð
Kasia moved to double brood 3 frames from the failed nuc which was shaken out. DLQ. 4 foundationless frames.

First test of my wax steamer.
Thermal cut out went on extension lead. Big wattage.

Takes time and electricity and gas to render wax. Wondering whether it's worth it.
4? 5? hours running steamer plus 3 hours heating a bain-marie on the stove.
Not as bad as expected. My time's worth nothing. ð

Supers given last week barely touched. Lack of nectar?

PARTIAL INSPECTION - between the showers
Check demaree of Kaia. Demaree 7 days. Removed one weirdly stubby QC. Dead developed pupae/bees. Not melted, not stringy goo. ?
Nuc from Linnet demaree, can't see any brood. Emerge 2 weeks.

INSPECTION - waited for the cooler day.
18degC, 10deg less than last few days.
Linnet is drone central!! Found 2 frames of worker brood to move down from top demaree BB.
Kasia to 15 brood frames.
Maybe 3 supers to extract. 2 supers. Bramble
Kaia demaree'd. Eggs in cups.

The stragglers hanging about the front of the box. Not climbing up onto the frames.
The rest of the colony taken 9pm Saturday, which is 36 hours ago.
Misted down with water. swept into a box and dropped on top of the crownboard in another colony.

Made up nuc from the cut out of the owl box and intro new queen.
2 of brood, one of food and some drawn comb and foundation. Queen still alive but they've made QCs. ?!
OAD 4 days ago but no varroa dropped out, no sign of DWV. ?

New queen established. Moved to full BB adding frames from the rest of the cut-out after bees shaken off into the grass.
Couple of combs dropped. Left at the farmhouse.

Well that's what it's for. 2 x 2025 queens moved into nucs and taken away by beginners.
#1 still queenless, buy queen.
#2 DLQ shaken out.
Defensive #3 split into 4 and will be taken off-site to requeen.
