I’m deeply concerned about the proliferation of AI-generated writing in the African continent. wix.to/b9Khz3R #worldcup #Sunday

I shouldn’t find ANY of the lines in your POEM verbatim in a zoologist’s research article. 😢 It only signifies one thing: YOU USED AI 🤖 to write it. And you deceived me. LONTA Ladies and gentlemen running literal outlets in AFRICA, ‼️there’s a proliferation in some African countries of the use of LLM to write emails, university assignments and now creative pieces. ‼️ Do not think your outlet wouldn’t or hasn’t been affected. Wait for my/our FINDINGS to DROP. #FirmesPorLaPatría #Belfast #worldcup

Okay. 😀 A vested person told me they strongly suspect a John Smith (who’s gaining notoriety for their writing and getting published everywhere) of using AI apps for outlining, editing, and idea generation, in other words: AI-assisted writing. 🖋️ I was clueless. 😮 The more of John Smith’s poems I read, the more I’m convinced that learned observer was RIGHT. WOW. I didn’t even know what to look for initially until I did a course too. I’m planning a teaching session in JULY with a few others to highlight the features of fake writing. 🚶 #FootballCommunity #FirmePorLaPatría

There is something demented about the words and their delivery, like some grotesque parody. How do you speak like this when you're not some caricature in a play?

Ghana 🇬🇭 Seeks to Gag Literary Outlets & Publishers 😮 Heterosexual or not, we cannot be lackadaisical about the far-reaching consequences of the new LGBTQ regulations in Ghana. If you are a literary outlet, to ignore the draft bill will be FOOLISH. Thing is, most writers in Africa, don’t read lengthy texts or statutory documents so they are blissfully unaware of the following: 1. Ghana’s new bill if signed into law by their President will criminalise the "promotion," "sponsorship," and publication of LGBTQ content. It’ll effectively expose media houses, ALL authors, and journalists to potential fines and prison sentences if they produce, distribute, or broadcast material supportive of LGBTQ rights or identities. 2. It means everyone even heterosexual publishers can’t indicate ‘Efua from Accra is queer,’ in the author’s bio as this identity will no longer be recognised legally. 3. We cannot publish poetry, essays or stories by LGBTQ Ghanaians advocating for or celebrating their lifestyles. 4. We won’t be able to SEND to or DISTRIBUTE in Ghana, books by openly queer writers. The Ghana 🇬🇭 Bill is stricter than any law currently in existence in Africa. Now You Know. ACT. #Worldcup

African Literary Outlets Do Not Have An Effective Way of Communicating —————————— Are you an editor or owner of a Literary Outlet in Nigeria 🇳🇬, Ghana 🇬🇭, South Africa 🇿🇦, Kenya 🇰🇪, Zambia 🇿🇲, Malawi 🇲🇼, Botswana 🇧🇼 or any other sub-Saharan African country? Then you’d WANT to read this: The biggest threat to creative writing in the continent is synthetic writing being published by SOME of you ladies and gentlemen. You CANNOT differentiate between human and machine-authored pieces. There’s hardly ANY joint-up working among literary outlets in the continent and everyone’s doing their own thing on the side. We all need to work together to combat fake writers wasting your meagre resources. #worldcup #sallandık

‘We do not often see sons of great men toeing the path of their fathers, but for a child who once dreamt of becoming an inventor, Chinua, in his award-winning writings, has justified why he chose the ways of his father.’ 💙♥️👆

Academic writing should be addressed neither to the public nor to other academics. It should be addressed to a single interlocutor with whom you have a petty rivalry and whose work you are trying to discredit
