ALT I have been here for nearly two weeks following a disabling back injury and have just read the articles on the inspection of the RVI and Freeman hospitals which appeared on January 24. Such a disappointment and challenge for all directly concerned and indeed, for all of us who live in the city. My experience of our health service, here at Connie Lewcock is the complete opposite of that described by the inspection reports. This small unit and all of the people working in it are truly remarkable. Busy, cheerful, expert and empathetic, they go about their tasks efficiently and even when pressed manage to make residents feel that their needs are the number one priority. Staff at all levels have created a positive ethos which focuses on our improvement and wellbeing. I am grateful to have been referred here and hope that in some small way this account counterbalances the sorry tale from our larger institutions.
