Rest in peace Steve. Great trainer, great boss, and great person. 10 years working in his stable with so many unforgettable memories. He taught me that even a small stable could win G1 and achieve consistent metro success year after year. He gave me so many opportunities to learn about training horses and showed me how great the horse racing can be, and he also supported my Australian visa. He changed my life forever. My thoughts are with Steve’s family in this heartbreaking time.

Really saddened to hear that Steve Richards has died. He always really lovely to deal with over many years and always available for an interview. A genuinely nice man who could train a horse well, including an old favourite of mine in Ark Regal. May he rest in peace. Condolences to his family, friends and team.

Steve Richards … another good guy gone. I think I first met him around 1980. That’s a long time ago. Very underrated trainer. He deserved more success than he had. RIP Steve.
