Maybe they are acting this way because their beliefs and policies cannot stand under the weight of scrutiny in light of the truth.

The role of the pregnancy center director can often be emotionally weaponized, especially against efforts to criminalize abortion.
Texas Republicans rejected toxic empathy, choosing instead to affirm that preborn babies must receive equal protection of the laws.
The said that equal protection would shut down every pregnancy center in Texas and nobody cared 🤣

For the past several months, @TXAlliance4Life has spent massive amounts of time and energy trying to weaken the Republican Party of Texas platform and legislative priorities, gutting them of any equal protection and abolition language.
But the efforts from @TXAlliance4Life were met with total and overwhelming rejection.
Instead the platform and legislative priorities will contain the strongest abolition language we have ever seen, partially in reaction to the subversive efforts of @TXAlliance4Life.
The conservative grassroots in Texas are ready to close loopholes in the law keeping abortion legal for women, to establish equal protection for preborn babies, and to abolish abortion for the glory of God.
🚨 BREAKING: The debate on the Republican Party of Texas Platform has now ENDED, and there were NO further efforts from the Pro-Life establishment to GUT equal protection and abolition language.

Notice how @TXAlliance4Life would rather tank the entire “Protect Life” legislative priority rather than include any language that would actually make abortion illegal for women.
Alliance for Life argues that “in practice, this language would subject vulnerable women to life in prison or even the death penalty,” and have pushed to replace it with language that removes any “proposals that seek to criminalize women who obtain abortions, including calls for the death penalty or lengthy prison sentences.” The group describes said proposals as being counterproductive to the pro-life movement.
