We are excited to share that Josh Crutchfield has joined the Benedict College men’s basketball coaching staff as an assistant coach. Crutchfield arrived at Benedict after two seasons with Southern Methodist University, where he served as a Graduate Assistant.

As a player, Crutchfield competed for four years at Gordon College (2017–21), starting for two seasons. He was a career 40% three-point shooter and led the Commonwealth Coast Conference in three-point percentage (43.3%) in 2019-20.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Sport & Wellness from Gordon College (2021), a master’s degree in Education in Coaching from Greenville University (2023), and a master’s degree in Sport Management from Southern Methodist University.

We are excited to introduce our new Head Coach, Dannton Jackson. Coach Jackson comes to Benedict from Talladega College, where he served as Head Men’s Basketball Coach and Deputy Athletic Director. In three seasons with Talladega, he guided the Tornadoes to a 54-33 record.

Coach Jackson transformed Xavier University of Louisiana’s men’s basketball program into a powerhouse. He compiled an impressive 294-130 career record. Jackson was inducted in XULA’s Athletic Hall of Fame in 2024.
