My girlfriend got me an ornament of my first book and said "We'll add one to the tree with each new book you write" but I don't think she is prepared for 50 illegally published Mad Men fanfiction ornaments. I love you, baby ❤️

Saw in the replies that this guy has never seen Mad Men. Pete Campbell? He thought of that. Turned out it already existed, but he arrived at it independently.

Kind of telling that many negative reviews of Spielberg's work are "Our greatest living artist processes trauma by finding optimism and hope. If only he had given into pessimism and doom, like me."

Mobile, Alabama should make a bigger deal out of Spielberg filming the most gorgeous movie of all time there

Always fascinated by Spielberg's politics. Never in your face. Clearly loves America/its founding ideals while also untrustworthy of an either corrupt or incompetent government. The ending of Raiders were the "top men" just stick the Ark in a warehouse is so beautiful.

Writers love to create sympathetic creatives so it is funny that Mad Men spent a decade following a promising writer working towards something great and then ended with him taking a job at the Legion of Doom instead of finally writing his book

Don Draper drunkenly leaving work at noon and wandering into a Magic the Gathering tourney in a cafe, lighting a cigarette and whispering to some guy in shorts asking what’s happening.

I like how classic movies used to have abrupt happy endings. Like the villain suffers an absolutely horrific death and then it cut to 15 seconds of the main character on a beach with their love interest saying "I'm glad that's all over now and we get to enjoy the honeymoon 😏"

Announcer: Tonight on Columbo... Columbo, playing paddle ball: Boy, this is terrific. *Shot of murderer killing victim* Columbo, pointing at pistachios: Can I have these? *Murderer disposing of body* Columbo: Umm, sir, we may have found a witness. *Santa Claus walks in*

Thinking about the period in the 1970s where studios were churning out mega-budget, star-studded disaster movies that would feature someone like Jack Lemmon for 20 seconds as a guy who falls into a lava pit and they would be one of the highest grossing movies of the year
