Hey guys the normal working class whisperer is speaking. Listen up! Also if I had to guess I would imagine most people passively identify with nationality. Since nationalism is the default ideology. This is different than "most ppl are flag waving hogs believe me a normal person
something the left needs to sincerely grapple with is that the vast majority of workers in this country identify as american before anything else. i personally think it’s in our best interest to channel a positive vision for this country

This also corresponds with my experience with most ppl I know. Im a construction worker and a socialist. Sure there are hogs but I honestly wouldn't feel the need to appeal to patriotism when discussing politics because a) they dont seem to care b) its lame and unprincipled

Just to add to Brittany who did a phenomenal job. I think its important to emphasize that RIDSA is not operating in wildly different circumstances that mean an independent run "makes sense" vs other places of the country. Were running a campaign because members who wanted a clean
New Gimme a Break! In this special episode, Lital and Edward talk to Monica from JBA & Jason from @labormilitant, just back from campaigning in Rhode Island for independent DSA candidate @brittanyforri, who they interviewed for the podcast! Check it out: buzzsprout.com/2619002/episo…

Break did the political and ideological work in the chapter to set the real policy of the chapter away from the Democratic Party and towards something else

I almost exclusively do audiobooks and people who say this dont read or listen
Hot take but listening to an audiobook is not reading and it’s actually insane to think otherwise

Over the years, ive heard the refrain of "be normal" countless times and while I definitely agree and am guilty of saying it a few times i also wonder if Tony Soprano's "if you have to say your the boss youre not" principle applies here
i am begging the left, as we continue to build power, to try to be more normal. i know people don’t like to hear stuff like this but it’s true. people like you when you are pleasant and polite interpersonally!

The AOC/MTG thing gets so defensive, heated with strawen being erected so fast because both represent different flavors of the same phenomenon....take popular energy and funnel them back into the two political parties.

Robespierre would be disappointed by our lack of revolutionary virtue

Let's show em how's its done, RIDSA!
We are excited to endorse Brittany Kubicek for Rhode Island General Assembly! A vocal DSA member, she is running to represent Providence as an independent socialist against an incumbent establishment democrat. Her explicitly socialist platform includes a $30 minimum wage, statewide rent-freeze, and public takeover of RI’s energy companies.

We can't try to build a third party because annoying people on the internet say we should AND it would be weally hawwd. That's the take
As requested by oomfs, here is a very long clip of @hasanthehun explaining why the formation of a third political party is not ideal nor realistic right now and why it is important to work with what we currently have, and to build from there. This clip is from May 2nd, 2026. 🖤

One can only hope
are the democrats gonna quit whining about hasan and gobbling Israeli cock long enough to actually get down to business and punish the republicans or are they doomed to go the way of the Whigs

Last night I had the opportunity to join with organizations from Providence and the surrounding areas to formally launch the next phase of the PVD4PALESTINE ballot initiative that has been spearheaded by @jvp_ri. It is so exciting to fight back at the local level against the genocide and get this on the ballot to let Providence residents decide to divest from apartheid. ✊🏼🇵🇸

Almost nothing grinds my gears quite as much as hearing content creators who have obvious academic background scoff at other people insisting socialists should read theory. Sorry regular people can or should read theory..its not just for you

Its really funny how the assumption is Leftists are impossible to please. Most Leftists I know are so effing ready for an excuse to join in on a movement where as as you move rightward how touchy they are the second you're not full hog for thier politics
Do liberals on here think that leftists don’t vote blue? Like at all? Literally every argument I’ve ever had here always leads to them thinking someone like myself doesn’t vote blue. When I’ve always done that. The disconnect is staggering.

Then again I'm not one of these Leftists. I hate the Democratic Party and I think independence is close to my number 1 issue.
