Happy Flag Day. Nothing says “celebrating America” like watching more bombs go off in the Middle East while our leaders pretend this endless cycle is normal. America First should mean keeping America out of it.

I support basic voter ID. That’s not the debate.The SAVE Act goes way beyond that. It requires proof of citizenship, like a passport, birth certificate, or certain REAL IDs, just to register to vote. A lot of eligible Americans don’t have those documents sitting around or can’t easily get them. That hits poor/ low income, rural, elderly, young, and married/name-change voters. Whoever thought warrantless spying that sweeps up Americans was a good idea should probably sit this one out. That was never conservative. Liberty needs guardrails.

I keep trying to put myself in the other side’s shoes. If a liberal president held a $60M White House UFC event that looked more like a birthday party than America’s 250th, during war and an affordability crisis, conservatives would lose their minds. And honestly? They’d be right. Celebrate America’s 250th, absolutely. But don’t tell Americans affordability is “conquered” while families are still getting crushed, then throw a spectacle that makes it look like they’ve been left behind. The optics are brutal.

We are cooked. So cooked. I honestly don’t know how anyone who voted for Trump is okay with this rhetoric. I’m not. America First was supposed to mean putting Americans first. This sounds a lot more like Trump First. The more I see every day, the more I question that vote.

Republicans advertising warrantless spying as “safety” is wild. FISA 702 may target foreigners, but Americans still get swept up too. Conservatism used to mean: get a warrant. Now the GOP is defending the surveillance state and Dems are questioning it. Upside-down world.

If there’s nothing to hide, why all the panic? Situation Room meetings. Epstein leak fears. A floated Ghislaine Maxwell PR play. Talk of clemency getting shut down because even they knew how bad it would look. Even Melania said victims deserve to be heard. The reaction is becoming the story. Release it all. Stop playing games.
