All good for business. All good for workers. All good for communities. Small shops & corner stores benefit EVERYONE.
Like many of the most vibrant, walkable & enjoyable cities in the world, I want a Toronto with housing options, accompanied by cafes, corner stores and small local shops in neighborhoods where people are able to live, work and play. Let’s move on this vision at council this week.

Vet costs are way up in the last decade. Why? Corporate takeovers. Mars Inc., yes, the candy company, owns nearly 1/2 of all corporate vet clinics in the U.S. When corporations dominate, costs rise, quality drops, & communities lose. 🔗 @BostonGlobe | bostonglobe.com/2024/11/19/o…

Canadian businesses are crunched. - Retail & industrial rents are skyrocketing. - Businesses are being pushed around by bad landlords. - Access to fair capital is almost non-existent. Thank you @kristynwongtam, @JessicaBellTO for listening. We look forward to taking action.
Thank you @BetterwayCAN, @CfifeKW, @JessicaBellTO & everyone who spoke at our Small Business Roundtable today. Small businesses are feeling the pinch and aren't getting special treatment from Doug Ford. We deserve a fair economy that supports small businesses. #ONpoli #TorCen

Congrats to our friends in Alaska! Minimum wage increases put more money in workers pockets - that often gets spent locally at small businesses. When #minimumwage went up in Ontario in 2018, there was a notable increase in full-time jobs & economic growth.
🗳️ Alaska voters APPROVE $15 Minimum Wage and #PaidSickDays ‼️ More than 130 businesses joined our Alaska Business for Better Jobs coalition to support Ballot Measure 1 🥳#RaisetheWage
