Lily: I am a Sprinter and I had a successful 2025 despite injuries. I was awarded Yorkshire and North East Champion at the regional Sports Hall finals and I qualified for the National Indoor Championships in Sheffield. I won silver at the Yorkshire Champs.

Matthew: I am a multisport athlete and I've had a good start to my triathlon season with a 1st in Age Group at Tadcaster Triathlon. I've also participated in the York 10k road race league, with 2 course PB's, and Clifton Cycling Club time trial league.
We’ve had a busy and productive 12 months at Energise, and we’re always looking for ways to improve wherever possible. With plenty projects and ideas still in the pipeline, we wanted to take a look back at some of the upgrades we’ve made over the past year.

Louise: I'm a proud Team GB transplant athlete competing in discus and shot put. I have won 12 British medals and 3 Silver at the World Champs. In 2026 I will be competing in the European Champs and the British Games hoping to bring home gold!

Ursula: I race for Great Britain in Ski Mountaineering. I was racing across Europe in the World Cup Series in both short and long format races. I achieved my first world podium finish winning the ISMF Masters World Championships Individual race (O35 age group).

Oscar: I am a swimmer in York in the National squad and a Biathle athlete with Yorkshire Biathle Club. I have qualified for my first European Championships to represent Team GB in the individual Biathle u17’s event. I also have World Qualifiers coming up soon.

Luca: I am an Ultimate Frisbee athlete. I finished 2nd in the outdoor national U14 final and won the U17 indoor nationals. I have recently been selected for the GB U17 open team and I am preparing for the Euros in the Summer.

Becky: I am an endurance masters runner competing across a range of distances and disciplines, from road 5Ks to trail marathons. I hope to encourage other masters runners showing that you can continue to compete, improve, and enjoy running at any age.

Lucas: I am a gymnast and qualified from Regional Champs to National Setwork Finals for the last 3 years. I won Yorkshire team bronze & finished with the highest score on pommel in 2024. Working through injuries I hope to be back fully fit in a few months time.

Ben: I am a powerlifter, multiple British bench press champion, I represent GB and recently broke the British bench press record. I love the challenge of lifting heavy things and working to get stronger every day.

Millie: I have recently been selected to play for Team GB U17. This summer, our team will compete at the highest level for our age group in the European Championships. After this, I hope to compete internationally with the same team.

Stan: I am a backstroke and individual medley swimmer. 2025: he won silver at the Aquatics GB Champs, and two silvers at the Swim England Summer Champs. Stan is on the Swim England National Youth Development Programme and is on the Jersey CWG Performance Pathway

Eve: I specialise in 100m and 200m backstroke. I qualified for the Aquatics GB Swimming Champs where I placed 44th in Britain. I am focused to make it to a British final with the support of my club, sponsors, family and friends.

Olivia: I compete in Biathle and Biathlon. Last year I won the National Schools Biathlon and represented Team GB at the Biathle European Champs, winning bronze, silver and team gold. At the Biathle World Champs I placed 7th in the U13 race and won team silver.

Poppy: I have been sailing for just over a year competing in national events. 2026: 3rd in the Filey Regatta, 1st in the North Winter Champs, 2nd in the Eric Twianme Junior Champs. Next I have National Champs in Wales and the World Champs in Germany.

Harriet: I compete in national track and road cycling. I have achieved 2nd at round 1 of the National Youth Omnium and 4th at round 2. I have multiple top 10 finishes in the National Road Series and won races at the Monsters of Track events.

Eva: I am a Track Cyclist Sprinter. I am aiming to achieve certain times this summer to get onto an Olympic Development Squad. Receiving the support from Better will enable me to enter more races and give me more options for training to improve my times.

Arthur: I'm currently on the British Cycling National School of Racing pathway for the 2026 season. I compete at a high level in both road and track disciplines. I am looking forward to another year with the support of Better and the GLL Sport Foundation.

Philip: I have a 15yr career in Triathlon with Ironman and 70.3 titles, but started a new career in E-sports cycling after COVID. I've returned to Triathlon alongside my esports commitments and have the aim of racing at the highest level once again in 2026.
