Local law enforcement in California accused Aman Kumar, of India, of striking a 4-year-old boy with his vehicle and fleeing the scene of the accident. The boy is expected to survive but tragically sustained critical injuries.
Due to sanctuary policies, the state released 30-year-old Kumar from jail despite knowing he is an illegal alien facing felony hit-and-run charges.
Kumar is currently in removal proceedings, so ICE had to assemble a larger team and apprehend him in the community because California jails refuse to work with ICE.
🔎Currently, more than 33,000 illegal immigrants in California custody have active detainer requests tied to crimes ranging from homicide and assault to robbery, drug offenses, weapons crimes, and sexual predatory offenses.
