Rooney Rule doesn't guarantee any POC gets hired. Just allows QUALIFIED candidates to get their foot in the door of an already wildly biased system
Professional sports are a visible example of a merit-based system, but through the Rooney Rule, the NFL requires its teams to use race-based hiring practices.
We are putting Commissioner Roger Goodell on notice: the Rooney Rule violates Florida law, and it must stop.

Oregon quarterback Dante Moore said he has decided to return to school for the 2026 season, forgoing a chance to be a top pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. His decision is expected to have significant ramifications on the draft.

When I lost my job at ESPN Radio in 2007, only two staff members reached out to see how I was doing and wish me well. @BrandonTierney was one of them. He's not only extremely talented but a great person and a good friend. BT, I hope we get to work together again!

UAB football is expected to hire Alex Mortensen as the schoolās next head coach, per ESPNās @PeteThamel. Mortensen worked as the interim coach this year in the wake of Trent Dilferās dismissal. He beat No. 22 Memphis and won at Tulsa as the interim coach.
