Truth šŸ’£
INTENTION changes everything! Two athletes. Same starting point. Same exact program.
But one keeps improving… and the other stays stuck. Why? Athlete A is just going through the motions. Showing up because they have to. Checking the box.
Athlete B shows UP. Every rep has purpose. Every drill has focus. Every session has effort behind it. That’s the difference between average and elite. If you want to become an elite athlete, don’t just be present; be intentional. Work hard. Compete. Show up with purpose. This post put together by performwithpete needs to be seen by as many athletes and coaches as possible! Amazing visual and an important lesson on how to maximize every training session. Over a thousand training sessions INTENT becomes the difference between success and knowing you could have been more!

Deep dive into the conjugate system, brief maximal tension, undulated periodization, jump waves, etc. Performance training is simple—Create a stimulus to drive adaptation & provide frequent exposure to the stimulus. ⁦@ZacGoodman_⁩ @BigTimeStrength podcasts.apple.com/us/podcas…

Thankful for Coach Jake Anderson and all he does for his athletes and this profession. I first me Coach Anderson 16 years ago and was blown away by his passion and execution. I hope you all enjoy the episode! šŸŽ§

One of the best parts of being an S&C coach? There’s no gatekeeping. S&C coaches share, collaborate, and lift each other up. Every S&C coach I know is an open book.

One of the best HS strength coaches in the nation! Constantly putting out great content. šŸ™šŸ»
Here’s a general example of our programming for a Microcycle. Going from how we would categorize incorporating periodization w/ tier system using a generic example (VBT not shown) and how we would prioritize for rotational athletes like Baseball.

Such a game changer for students!
I made a pitch to my AD and then curriculum director. Took some time. Had plenty of examples to show them of similar schools doing it successfully.

Another reason for S&C classes during the school day: kids after school schedules are OVER schedule- homework, work, practice, games, social life. If they can get it done during an elective. Let them! Their school experience doesn’t end after the last bell. Make their life easier

Great stuff from Plyomat!

Jump Mats have been around since the early 90’s and are growing in popularity every day because of their ease of use and affordability. But the lack of educational resources surrounding this technology has caused a lot of confusion with its use and validity. We are finally addressing this major need with a comprehensive course on how switch mat technology is used to measure the most popular jump mat metrics: vertical jump, ground contact time, and reactive strength index. Rich has teamed up with Teofe Ziemnicki over the past few months, processing 2 decades worth of research, articles, and resources on the subject to provide a lecture-based course that covers ALL aspects of jump mat utilization, including the notorious ā€œJust Jump Modeā€. This course will be available to purchase on our site in the coming weeks but will be free for all Plyomat customers!
