ALT We would like to update you on the status of the SAPF 2 venue situation. To put the most important news first: SAPF 2 is 100% happening! We visited and inspected a replacement venue this week and are convinced that it is suitable for running a tournament of our scale. The City of Hanover confirmed to us in writing that we will be able to use it in the event that our original venue does not reopen in time. You do not need to worry about needing to book new accommodation as the replacement venue is centrally located in Hanover and a ~10 minute tram ride from our original venue. All other relevant information on the replacement venue will be shared if and when we receive confirmation that we cannot use the original one. The plan going forward is as follows: We expect to receive confirmation of whether we will be able to use our original venue on April 8th. We will inform you on what our venue will be as soon as we are able to.

ALT We need to inform you of an ongoing situation regarding our venue for SAPF 2. Last Friday, the 20th, during a routine inspection high levels of PCBs (polychlorinated biphenyls) were identified in certain locations of the venue. PCBs are a group of chemical compounds that are tightly regulated in Germany due to their poisonous nature. Following this discovery the venue has been closed for at least two weeks to conduct additional examinations. Due to the uncertainty regarding the availability of our current venue and to ensure the safety of all attendees, we have immediately begun working with the City of Hanover to find a suitable and safe alternative location. We are making hopeful progress in our search and remain optimistic about being able to resolve the situation in time.
